The scenographic hall of Hotel Danieli’s 14th century Palazzo Dandolo will host on the 20th of July, starting from 08.00 pm, The Merchant of Venice, a tale in the form of a dramatic reading in its original language based on the play by William Shakespeare, with adaptation and direction by Paolo Valerio, with Stephanie Dickson, Joe Parker, Sofia Pauly, and Grant Reeves of the King's Theatre of Portsmouth, accompanied by Sabrina Reale on the piano.
An absolutely rare and glamorous event which celebrates the fifth centennial of the Venice ghetto’s foundation and the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s passing in collaboration with Il Teatro Stabile del Veneto - Teatro Nazionale and La Federazione Associazioni Italia Israele. The reading will be followed by a Merchant of Venice inspired Cocktail Dinner curated by Chef Dario Parascandolo on the bel étage of Hotel Danieli.

Teatro in Festival summer season
In addition to The Merchant of Venice performance at Hotel Danieli, the actors of the King's Theatre of Portsmouth will also be engaged with the Teatro Stabile del Veneto in Romeo and Juliet on stage at Verona's Teatro Nuovo, in the ideal playbill for the Teatro in Festival summer season, which also includes Servant of Two Masters directed by Giorgio Sangati at Venice's Goldoni Theater, William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar directed by Alex Rigola at Verona's Teatro Romano and the "Happy Hour with Shakespeare" series at Padua's Verdi Theatre.
