La Biennale 2016 was directed by architect Alejandro Aravena, all about escaping the status quo through the intelligence of architecture. The Venice Biennale alternates between Art and Architecture and 2017 will be the year of Art. Curated by Christine Macel, the 57th edition will be entitled 'Vive Arte Viva' showcasing art as the most precious part of the human being in a world of conflict.
